The application of EPDM rubber in the automotive industry

Ethylene propylene diene rubber (EPDM) by the ethylene, propylene monomer by adding a small amount of non-conjugated diolefin polymerisation. Its structure is characterised by the absence of unsaturated double bonds in the main chain of the polymer molecule, and the introduction of unsaturated double bonds in the branched chain. Thus, it has excellent weather resistance, heat resistance, ozone resistance, ultraviolet resistance, as well as good processing performance and low compression permanent deformation, is the first choice for the production of sealing strip materials. At present, the vast majority of automotive sealing strip materials are used EPDM as the main raw material. According to the different parts and functions of the sealing strip, in the actual application, in the EPDM material to add vulcanization, protection, reinforcement, operation system materials and special endowment materials (such as coloring agents, foaming agents), the formation of dense rubber (including black rubber and colour rubber) and sponge rubber.
