Pressure injection vulcanisation is the process of injecting preheated unvulcanised rubber into a closed mould that is heated under high pressure. Pressure injection vulcanisation has some advantages that flat plate vulcanisation does not have. Since it is an automatic cyclic vulcanisation. Therefore, the vulcanised compound has more uniform physical properties. The physical properties of the finished elastomer product are also better because the compound remains at a higher temperature only for a short period of time. The injection press method generally has better rubber-to-metal bonding properties than the flat plate method. The press method is most useful when medium to high production volumes of rubber products are required. Labour costs and raw materials are saved due to the faster vulcanisation cycle and the fact that the blanks for the moulds do not have to be prepared as in plate vulcanisation.
