The piston rod seal is the most critical seal on any type of fluid power equipment, preventing fluid from leaking from the inside of the cylinder to the outside. Leaking piston rod seals can reduce equipment performance and, in extreme cases, cause environmental problems. Special attention should be paid to the use of piston rod seals and dust rings in conjunction with each other to obtain the best sealing performance. If the oil film on the piston rod is thick, with the oil scraping heavy dust ring, it will scrape the oil film ring remaining on the piston rod when the piston rod is moving, leading to similar leakage phenomenon.
