O-ring is a two-way sealing element. When installed, the initial compression of the O-ring in the radial or axial direction determines the initial sealing capacity of the 0-shaped seal. The system pressure acting on the O-ring is the total sealing force; the sealing force increases as the system pressure rises. Under pressure, the shape of the O-ring is similar to that of a liquid with high surface tension. The force is transmitted equally in all directions.

O-ring seal compression deformation rate selection:
Theoretically 0 compression can also achieve sealing, the actual is not possible.
Eccentric: working load, O-ring stretching, thinning, it may leak.
Low temperature: rubber shrinkage, thinning, may leak (low temperature will cause rubber accelerated aging, loss of compensation capacity).
The general section has 7%-30% compression deformation rate, static seal to take a large compression rate ( 15%-30% ), dynamic seal to take a small compression rate ( 9%-25% ).
