High pressure resistance
Hydraulic press working pressure usually reaches 20~40MPa (or even higher), seals need to be made of high-strength materials (e.g. polyurethane PU, nitrile butadiene rubber NBR) or composite structure
(e.g. metal+rubber combination), to prevent deformation or extrusion under high pressure.
Wear and tear resistance
Frequent reciprocating motion requires high surface hardness (e.g. Shore hardness 70~95) and low coefficient of friction (PTFE coating can be added) to reduce the wear and tear with the piston/cylinder wall and prolong the life.
Temperature adaptability
Wide range of working temperature (-30℃~+200℃), high temperature needs fluorine rubber (FKM), low temperature with silicone rubber (VMQ), to avoid thermal aging or brittle crack.
Media compatibility
Resistant to hydraulic oil, emulsion, water-glycol and other media, different materials to choose from:
NBR:common mineral oil;
FKM:synthetic ester oil/high temperature oil;
EPDM :water-based media.
